The challenges we are facing today are so unexpected, unprecedented and devastating.

Challenges which none of us have faced in our lifetimes.

Things are so up in air at the moment. We are not sure what will happen tomorrow, let alone next week or next month. This is unsettling for the best of us, and so much more for our Senior loved ones.

So when we go back to normal, what will normal be? Will we go back to the way things were before or will we do things differently?

Lockdown has turned our lives upside down, disrupted our routines, had us housebound and given us time to think. Some of us got deep cleaning, some decluttering, some doing household chores we had never tackled before. I, for one, have become more aware of how we do things around the house. Even though I pride myself on ‘living lightly’ and watching my carbon footprint, I have realised there are a lot of things I can do better.

This is a strange time, in lockdown with nowhere to go, and much less to do. For me, it is a time of introspection, a time to think, a time to re-evaluate how I live and what I do with my time.

So here we are in lockdown, and for South Africans it’s week THREE. Cabin fever has set in and our dogs are digging their way to Australia!

Friends and family know how much I love lists. I have lists for everything, and am constantly making new lists. I think it’s partly because I like order, mainly because I forget so easily.
